Audiobook Challenge 2016 || (Semi-Annual Update)

2016 Audiobook Challenge

Please visit HOT LISTENS and THE BOOK NYMPHO for more information about the challenge but some of the important details are:
  • The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2016 than you did in 2015.
  • Runs January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2016. You can join at any time.
  • ANY genres count.
  • Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.

My goal for 2016 is Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30 level.

I should have anticipated that I wouldn't get very much audio reading done this year. Between working full time and all of the bad stuff that happened at the end of 2015—and continued to happen this past 6 months, for that matter—I have struggled to find any personal reading time at all.

I thought for sure I had finished more than 5 audiobooks. Couldn't figure out how I only managed so few but then it occurred to me that not only was my time much more limited than the past two years... I've done a lot of starting an audiobook and then getting disinterested in it and starting another.

The Cupcake Witch
The Strange Case of Origami Yoda
Full Measures
Poison Princess
Half-Resurrection Blues
Furiously Happy
Three Slices - technically I finished one of the 3 books in this anthology but I'm not counting it finished yet

Just a few of my start-stop-start-stop reads this year. Ugh. I'm blaming the depression and the stress. :P

After this mid-year check in though, I'm feeling like I could kick my to-be-listen list's butt a bit over the summer. I tend to do a lot more reading and listening in summer anyway thanks to the long daylight hours and less jetting to and from school. Plus, with my kids home... they both actually have enjoyed listening to audiobooks with me on occasion so as long as I'm not listening to anything racy I bet I could get them to motivate me. ;)

Wish me luck!
