Weekend Reading [01/01 - 01/03] :: Geek Romances & My Bad Mood

Brand new year and I'm already in a bad mood. :(

I spent the last day of 2015 getting all of our Christmas things taken down and packed up and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. The idea was to spend the first day of the year—my last day off—reading. I'm not superstitious but I like the idea of starting the year off in a pleasurable and positive mental space. Unfortunately, stuff came up. Blech.

I honestly spent pretty much all of my time off cleaning or doing stuff for other people. I mean, that's been my entire adult life but yeesh. Couldn't someone around me have taken the hint that I needed at least a day to myself? To read without Fallout blaring in the same room? Or a kid asking me for food every 5 minutes? Or a hand folding laundry or doing dishes so I could find a few minutes to read that weren't in the 1am-2am hour?

Sorry readers, I'm super grumpy pants today. Needed to whine.

How has your new year's start gone? Well I hope. I'm working on Level Up: A Geek Romance Rom Com (Fandom Hearts #1) by Cathy Yardley which is really cute so far. But then, I'm a sucker for geeky characters in romances. How about you?

Well, since I'm in a grumptastic space tonight I'm going to cut this short and attempt to do a little bit of yoga in hopes I can decompress a little before I try to read again. Have a wonderful weekend! -- Rhi

My new years eve really did not go as planned. Ended up rushing to an instant care with a little boy who couldn't stop coughing, still can't. Turns out he has a really bad ear infection was going to use my four days of with cleaning my house instead I took care of a sick kid and slept very little last night. Happy new year.

I have everything packed up and the house is clean. You can be a grumpy pants every once in awhile. I get that way too if I don't get time to myself.

Yoga is always good! But yeah, I hear ya, I want to read and relax, and the hubby keeps asking me to clean the dishes etc etc. Gah!
