2014 Audiobook Challenge Wrap-Up

As you can see by my starting post for the challenge I was pretty excited to get going on it but kind of got lazy about updating. This is just a me thing, I hate updating stuff when I'm really going to be the only person looking at it. But strangely, I managed to not only hit my goal but to have had the challenge kind of change my life.

The challenge inspired me to go to the local library for the first time in 15 years to get a library card. Now I take my preschooler a few times a month just for storytime and make good use of the Overdrive app to supplement my Audible subscription. I've amassed quite the audiobook library on Audible and you should see the stack of audiobooks on CDs I've won this year. I rarely used to bother with them as giveaways, now I'm an addict.

The titles I finished (in no special order) this year were:

Others I started and haven't finished yet:

I enjoy the challenge overall quite a bit and think I'll join the one for 2015 too. If you're thinking about becoming more of an audio-reader in the new year I'd highly recommend learning how to use Overdrive and getting an Audible subscription.

I really want to listen to the Kevin Hearne books. I've been told by several people that they are really good. Maybe I can fit them in next year. Great job.

Great Job! I really enjoyed a few of the ones you got up there! Some are new to me.
Yay! so glad we have another junkie on the making!! They are awesome, aren't they? I love how much I can do while I'm listening, and the concentration gets better and better, now I can even do mindless things like Tumblr and Pinterest..LOL

Keep up the good listening :)

P.S. I don't know if you saw the Hop we have planned for January highlighting your favorites, I hope you can join us. It was a lot of fun last year.

Oh you will love them Mel! The narrator on them is phenomenal, and it helps with the pronunciation of some of Kevin's Gaelic verbiage.

Thanks Loupe! I was thinking about joining in the hop, trying to pin down my budget for January right now. ;) Christmas got out of hand already. lol
