By Alexx Andria
USA TODAY Bestselling Romance Author
Every author knows her characters’ backstory but it doesn’t always make it into the final draft because it’s not always necessary for the reader to know the nitty gritty. However, it’s vital for the writer to know what makes her characters tick because it gives them believable motivation for the conflict and conflict is what drives the story.
However, if you’re like me — the kind of person who enjoys peeking behind the curtain of the magician’s act — you’ll enjoy this.
DOB: Jan. 13
Jax Traeger, born to an alcoholic mother, father split when he was born. In and out of foster care since he was ten. Doesn’t trust easily (or at all) because his childhood was filled with broken trust incidents. Smart and good with numbers, he’s always had a head for business even if no one in high school thought he’d go very far. The motorcycle club is his family and he has a soft spot for injured animals even though he was never able to have a pet growing up. Until he met Zoe, he never believed in love nor did he expect to find it.
DOB: April 17
Hair: Dark blonde
Hunter Ericksen, abandoned by his drug-addicted mother when he was nine, left him to go on a binge. A teacher realized he was too thin and turned his case over to CPS. Near starving, Hunter was put into foster care while they tried to find his mother. In and out of different foster homes, Hunter got into fights and scraps all the time, resisted authority and got kicked out of multiple schools. What no one thought to ask was why this kid was such a handful. Hunter was hiding a reading disability. It wasn’t until he landed in the same foster home as Jax where they two bonded like glue over an incident that forever changed them both. The foster father, a bastard who deserved a first-class ticket to hell, tried to make Hunter suck his dick. Jax stole the man’s phone and recorded him trying to shove his dick into Hunter’s mouth then Hunter punched the man in the nuts and ran like hell. Jax confronted the man with the evidence and blackmailed him into keeping his hands to himself from then on. Jax held onto the evidence, using it as leverage until Jax and Hunter could bail. They made a pact that day to always have each other’s back. And to this day, they always do.
DOB: Sept. 25
Eyes: Soft brown
Zoe grew up in an average suburban household with loving parents but having always been a little plump, kids were cruel to her in school. She had a tender but naïve heart and often found herself giving more than getting from her supposed friends. She often ate to hide the pain of being rejected but even so, she retained her plucky spirit. She was in the journalism and yearbook club with the hope of becoming a celebrated journalist some day. She and her friend Delainey Jones, were two peas in a pod, both overlooked by the jock types and both dissatisfied with the geek types. Even though she was always a good girl, she fantasized about the bad boy. So when she saw Jax and Hunter, she was sunk. She’s super smart, but a little too impulsive for her own good and she wants the world to be a better place for every plus-sized girl being marginalized, teased, or put-down because of her size.
There you have it. A peek behind the curtain! What’d you think? Does it give you a little more insight as to their characters? Do you like knowing a little bit more about these delicious bad boys?
“I-I’m sorry…I think your guy got the wrong idea…”One black slash of a brow went up in question and he leaned forward, saying, “And what idea would that be?”“The idea that I’m…oh, I don’t know…um, available for…” Shut up, you idiot! This was what deep cover was all about! Riding the knife’s edge to the ultimate story, finding your discomfort level and pushing past it to get to the good stuff that everyone else was too chicken to look for. Right. Inhaling a discreet, stabilizing breath, she straightened and braved a smile as she sauntered over to Jax, ignoring the flutters in her belly as his gaze darkened with interest. “Available for just anyone.”“Oh? Isn’t that the whole idea behind being a whore?”“A ww-hore? Excuse me? I’m not—““You’re not what? Not a whore?” His smile slowly faded. “Then you’re not from Dimas and if that’s the case…just who are you?”Oh crap. Her damn mouth. “I-I just mean…well, of course, I’m from Dimas. I was just taken aback for a minute. I mean, well, I wasn’t sure I was in the right place.”
Faster than she could react, he had her pressed up against the wood paneling, crowding her personal space and sending her heartrate through the roof. He smelled of leathers, a cool midnight ride, and the faint wisp of alcohol clinging to the edge as if as a reminder that his angelic face and body was simply a ruse to lure unsuspecting women to their doom. It should’ve repulsed her — truly, bad boys weren’t to her tastes — but she was oddly, and dangerously thrilled by the threat of caged violence she saw in his eyes and could see rippling through his biceps as he pressed forward. Was he going to ravage her right there like a modern day pirate or simply punt her outside the doors with a growled warning? Was she crazy for hoping — for a wild, irresponsible moment — that he would choose to grind those sensual lips across hers as punishment for daring to breach their inner sanctum? Yeah, don’t answer that. She already knew — it was fucking lunancy.
Title: Kings of Asphalt (Club Chrome)

Genre: Steamy romance (Motorcycle club romance)

Alexx Andria delivers a motorcycle club romance between two very bad, yet sexy men and a woman with enough curves to satisfy them both.
My name is Zoe Delacourte. I thought I was going to build my future on the backs of Jax Traeger and Hunter Ericksen -- bad boys from the wrong side of the tracks, running the notorious motorcycle club, the Kings of Asphalt -- in my mind, the story had practically written itself. I was so naive. Little did I know they were going to change everything I ever knew about myself.
Jax and Hunter. I can't even say their names without trembling.
They don't see a fat girl or a girl who might be pretty if only she'd lose some weight. No, from the moment I walked into their club, they saw a hot, sexy woman with curves for days -- and they couldn't wait to get their hands on me.
Some people call them bad men. They see the rides and the rap sheets and they slap a label on them. I don't care what they've done -- all I care about is what they're going to do to me next.
But loving them is dangerous. In fact, loving them might just get me killed.
*The following MC romance is approximately 41,000 words featuring a strong central love story, danger, and the rough, seedy world dominated by two bad boys and their curvy woman.

USA Today bestselling author Alexx Andria is the pseudonym for RITA-nominated contemporary romance author, Kimberly Van Meter. Born in a small town with a flair for the dramatic, Alexx Andria has a delightfully perverted nature that she hides behind a mischievous smile. Alexx loves being the life of the party and doesn't mind one bit being the center of attention (just ask any of her friends or family!) She loves to write about Alpha men who are wonderfully flawed and just a little dangerous and heroines who are smart and sassy, but just a little vulnerable, too.
