Review: Seducing the Bridesmaid by Katee Robert

Seducing the Bridesmaid (Wedding Dare) by Katee Robert
Category Romance, Contemporary Romance
Ebook (131 pages, BRAZEN)
A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…
She has a plan. He’s about to change it.
Regan Wakefield is a headhunter in both name and personality: driven, motivated, and unafraid to pursue what—and who—she wants. Naturally, she’s thrilled when her friend's wedding offers her an opportunity to score Logan McCade, the practically perfect best man. Unfortunately, groomsman Brock McNeil keeps getting in her way, riling her up in the most delicious of ways. But Brock’s smooth southern charm isn't part of the plan...so how exactly did they end up having searing-hot sex?
Regan may pretend the erotic electricity sparking between them is merely a distraction, but Brock knows better. She refuses to see beyond the devil-may-care fa├žade he presents to the world, while he sees straight through hers. Changing her mind—and getting under her skin—is a challenge he can’t resist. And when he wins, Brock will do whatever it takes to convince Regan that the best man for her is him.

IMO there IS a reading order to the continuity... (3 stars)

Let me tell you dear readers... Katee Robert knows how to write a love scene that will melt your ereader but I've got to admit that this is the second one of her Brazen reads this year that left me a little less-than-wowed outside of the bedroom. Since the only Wedding Dare continuity story I've read before this was Laura Kaye's prequel (and holy moly it's good) I think whoever said these could be read in any order needs to be shot. While I liked Regan and Brock a lot I was really confused most of the time.

With ten characters fleshing out the core heroes and heroines of the continuity it's tough to get them straight as it is but with Regan trying to go after someone who's not her hero... add in another layer of confusion. It'd work under other circumstances I think and the glimpses at the other characters rocked but I also felt like it didn't give me enough time to adjust. It was rush-rush-rush like any real wedding week can be and the interludes with Brock and Regan were super fun. Their banter back and forth was great, their love scenes were panty-melting... and yet I never quite got over her chasing after Logan and kind of using Brock as an aside.

So yeah, it's sexy and yeah you should read it... but I'm going to go out on a limb and recommend reading it after DARE TO RESIST, BAITING THE MAID OF HONOR, and FALLING FOR THE GROOMSMAN and before you read BEST MAN WITH BENEFITS. Hopefully reading it in order will make it a little less confusing and a lot more fun.

I'm going to agree with you on the reading order. I read Laura's then Katee's. Definitely NOT how they should be read. Regan being with Brock then five minutes later plotting to get with Logan was a total put off. As a character she never recovered for me. But when I read the rest in order my dislike left a tad bit. Not a lot.
