A RhiReading recommended MUST READ if you love romance! (5 stars)
Dragons have been a favorite mythical creature of mine since I was a little. But they seem to be under utilized (though they're growing in popularity) in paranormal romance. When LUCK OF THE DRAGON came along I was pretty wary of the concept at first glance but then I read it and realized just how genius it is. This series is the perfect modern romance world to bring in dragons and STOP DRAGON MY HEART AROUND ups the ante.
First, let's address the boss-and-employee trope. I tend to hate this one unless the boss is a woman but Tee does all of the chasing in this one! She is one of my favorite heroines I have read. EVER. She's smart, thoughtful, driven, ambitious, spiritual, a good friend, generous, funny, and tall... okay, so that last one is just something I loved on a personal level because as a tall woman I get tired of always reading about how 'petite' every heroine is. But most of all I loved that she's Native American! Something I've been begging Entangled's imprints for more of are non-white heroes and heroines. One of my closest friends is Native American and has taught me so much about her family, her tribe, and their culture that it was refreshing to see Scott do the same with Tee.
Leo, in contrast, is a dragon shifter who has fallen in love with Tee and because she hasn't shown his mark knows she's not the mate destined for him. It was killing me to see him struggle with how deeply he loved her and the lengths he was going to because of it. He's much the strong and quiet type so the more aggressive approach Tee has with him makes for some page burning sexual tension. Let's just say I'll never look at an elevator the same way again. ;)
SDMHA was impossible to put down. Between the relationship between Leo and Tee, the trouble with her tribe, and the involvement of the other dragons in various parts of the story I was swept away to Las Vegas and didn't want to come home. Sensual and funny, action-packed and tear-inducing this book filled me up and rang me out. One of the most enjoyable category romances—I'd dare say romances, period—I've read and I am in agony waiting for the next installment. If you want to read something that can both move you to tears and make you snicker, drop your jaw and have you fanning yourself you HAVE to read this one and the good news is that it can stand alone enough you can read it first and then go back to LOTD. Trust me. BUY THIS BOOK. You are going to LOVE it.
