Steamy with a side of smolder. (4 stars)
If you're a Robin Covington fan but don't really consider yourself a paranormal romance reader... well, honey... sit right down and get this onto your ereader!
It wasn't until I sat down to devour SEX AND THE SINGLE VAMP that I realized I had only read one of Covington's short stories in the past. With this being her first foray into my territory I was pretty excited because the Covet imprint is a great place to find terrific contemporary romance tropes with paranormal twists. I know she can write sexy contemps so I was eager to see what she could do with vampires.
I wasn't quite sold on the paranormal elements of the world building to be honest but yowza—Cici and Deacon are hot. If you love a romance where the characters have lots of history that finally comes to a romantic conclusion with plenty of fireworks and torn sheets, you are going to love SatSV. Steamy with a side of smolder. There's a little bit of conflict, both external and internal, that pull them apart and bring them together and if you tend to lean more toward non-paranormals I really think this one will be up your alley.
Though I didn't quite love SatSV it is sure to be a great read for those who prefer their paranormal elements to be light and their couples to get busy regularly.
