Review: Drive Me Crazy by Tracy Wolff

Drive Me Crazy (Shaken Dirty #2) by Tracy Wolff
Contemporary Romance, Category Romance
Ebook $3.79 (210 pages, BRAZEN)
His rival’s in his bed, and this rocker is ready to play.
Former rivals Quinn Bradford and Elise McKinney are not friends, at least not anymore. As teens, all they cared about was psyching each other out before concerts. But when Quinn—now the keyboardist for Shaken Dirty, the hottest rock band on the scene—returns to his hometown and hears about the car accident that shattered Elise’s career, he’s determined to make things right.
Elise wants nothing to do with an arrogant rock star, despite how bad she so clearly wants him, so Quinn kidnaps the stubborn little piano player and whisks her back to his mansion. A little seduction might be just the thing to keep Elise under his care…and in his bed. But amid pranks both childish and very adult, their past comes rearing back to haunt them. And it might be more than either of them can forget.

When the dirty get shaken... (4 stars)

Shaken Dirty is in a state of chaos as the consequences of events in CRASH INTO ME begin coming to a head. The opening of DRIVE ME CRAZY has Quinn, the band's keyboardist, finding out that the rival he grew up with just lost her career after a car accident. He decides to track down Elise at the hospital to make sure she's alright and when he realizes she'll be going home with no one left in the world to care about her he decides he can't let that happen. So he kidnaps her.

Augh! Such a shoddy, cheesy premise. I'd call the cops on a guy that did that to me but I'll admit, Wolff managed to make this ridiculous plot pretty darned fun. Both Elise and Quinn are characters I was hard pressed not to like. Their childhood prank war turned adult... hysterical! As a couple they have the love-hate kind of thing that makes for delicious conflict peppered with push-and-pull moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

With the overall series arc in regards to the band's future woven into the romance I admit it felt a bit outside of it at first. Once the other band members get involved in the movement of DMC I was pleased with how well it all worked. I am definitely loving it as a series.

While Quinn hasn't been my favorite band member he managed to get a great story that was extra steamy, humorous, and yet still had lots of emotional sweetness. If you like big romantic gestures and sappiness you will love DMC. I can hardly wait for the next Shaken Dirty novel!

Notes: ARC received via publisher.
