Dear readers, If there's one thing you know I love, it's an author who shares the awesome trait of being a geek. Whenever the chance to have Aubrie by comes I can't help but beg she talk about something she geeks about because well... because we geeks tend to have great ideas inspired by the things we obsess over that wind up finding their way into our fiction. ;) Enjoy Aubrie's list and tell us what makes you get geeky! -- Rhi
How I Know I’m a Big
Time Geek
#1. I can recite every word from the original three Star
War’s movies. I used to reenact the scenes in my backyard with my sister. We
would fight over who got to be Princess Leia. For example, the first movie
starts out with a laser battle on Princess Leia’s rebel ship. C3PO turns to
R2D2 and says. “Did you hear that? They’ve shut down the main reactor. We’ll be
destroyed for sure. This is madness.” Oh yeah- I’m that good.
#2. I’ve been to a Star Trek convention to get Brent
Spiner’s autograph (He played the character Data for those of you who are
deprived of Star Trek) and take my picture with him. While I was there, I
bought a Ressikan flute- used by Captain Picard in the episode “The Inner
Light” on The Next Generation. I’m going to learn how to play the same song he
did. Oh yeah, and I’m going to the convention again this year. In costume.
Enough said.
#3. I’d rather learn Elvish than any real language spoke on
Earth today. If I could visit anywhere I want, I’d go to Rivendell, home of the
elves and ask Legolas to teach me how to use a bow. I also know a few words of
Klignon.
#4. I totally identify with the two main characters of the
Big Bang Theory. (Even though I’m not half as smart as they are. I can’t even do
geometry.) In fact, sometimes I’m
jealous of what they have- like Luke Skywalker shampoo- how cool is that?
#5. I spend my free time writing science fiction and
fantasy. Sure, there’s romance, but there’s also a good dose of spaceships,
sandworms, castles, magic, flutes, or mythical gods to go along with it. My
latest adventure in writing was Pan’s
Conquest, written about the relationship between Pan and Syrinx. I was
never happy with the way it ended in Greek Mythology- having Syrinx turn
herself into a reed, and then having Pan CUT the reed and make his Pan flute.
What kind of a HEA (Happily Ever After) is that?? Anyway, I’ve come up with a way better ending. check it out. It’s
only $.99 for a limited time!
About the Book
Title: PAN’S CONQUEST
Author: Aubrie Dionne
EBook: 119 pages
Release Date: February 24, 2014
ISBN: 978-1622663460
Syrinx pulled a fast
one on Pan to escape his raging lust. The God of Chastity wasn't about to break
her vows and succumb to his temptations. Transported to the twenty-first
century, she runs a florist shop—fulfilling her fake, mortal life. Until the
breathtaking Parker Thomas hires her to decorate his grand estate for a gala.
Five hundred roses? Easy enough. Except Parker makes her feel things she can't
ignore...
As the God of Fertility, Pan is used to maidens flocking in droves to his pastures. So when Syrinx denies him, he's determined to win the one that got away. He poses as a mortal to get close to her, but he doesn't count on falling hard for his conquest—hard enough to make a life and stay.
But Syrinx is falling in love with a man that doesn't exist. Can Pan hide his identity forever, or will the truth tear them apart?

Thanks for hosting me!
Thanks for coming Aubrie! I've been a Pan fan since seeing A Midsummer Night's Dream as a ballet for my 8th birthday.
I love the Pan legends. Thanks for a great book incorporating one version!
