But the next morning, Tor pretends like nothing happened, leaving Nikki with an emerging drive for combat—after all, turns out she is the daughter of Ares and she's about to make her mama proud.

Everything I expect from a COVET! (5 stars)
Toraos Stephanos just wants to launch his new cosmetics line without the interference of the pantheon and their demi-god offspring mucking it up. His assistant, Nikki, has no idea of her demi-goddess status until a bottle of Ambrosia leads the pair to a passionate night between them. But when Tor acts like nothing happened, hurting Nikki, who has longed to catch his eye for so long the simple business plan he had in mind becomes anything but. When Nikki's parental secret is revealed it's only natural that the daughter of the god of war fight for what she wants.
Oh dear readers, this is the story that the Covet imprint has been waiting for. A perfect blend of contemporary romance that could stand on its own without the paranormal elements... but made all the better for them. Even though I really get my geek on for any twist on mythology, I'm admittedly excruciatingly bored with the Greeks getting all the action. Yet, SUDDENLY BEAUTIFUL managed to make it interesting again. Tor is just so darned likable, he's handsome and wealthy, but well adjusted and confident without being a jerk. It's a rare thing for me to be rooting more for the hero to finally get the girl than the other way around and that was really refreshing.
Nikki bothered me just a little. She did a few things that—while well deserved by her targets—made her lose some of her likability in my eyes. I did, however, love how she handled finding out who her dad was and the scenes that involved him were great comedic breaks that had me laughing out loud over and over.
What really makes SUDDENLY BEAUTIFUL a must-read, is that it really is a category, contemporary romance first and foremost. If you took out the pantheon and supernatural elements it would be a good story that I'm sure would have plenty of positive reviews... but with them... it's a GREAT story. I'm not sure if Brux has more in the works but I would love to see a couple of the secondary characters get their HEA on if she does.
If you are a big category fan who only dabbles in paranormals this may just be the book that converts you into a PNR fan. Likewise, if you enjoy PNR and need a lighter read with more emphasis on the romance than the paranormal elements I think you will love this funny twist on the Greeks.

As a multi-published and an award winning author, Boone's writing drips with experiences from real life.
Addicted to anything that might make a good story, she weaves tales that range from dark fantasy to humorous romance. Settled in the icy regions of Alaska with the love of her life and twin daughters, it's not uncommon to find her tapping away on her iPad on a windy beach or the barren tundra.
Be warned, anyone and everything is fodder for one of Boone's novels.
