S.O.S. :: Seeking On Sunday Meme (#2)

Seeking On Sunday is a once-a-month meme hosted by RhiReading to bring together readers who are looking for book suggestions. It is open to any blogger on the 2nd Sunday of each month who wishes to post one of the following:

  • an 'If you like this book/series/author, I think you will enjoy this book/series/author because...' suggestion post

  • a post seeking commentors' book suggestions within a certain set of terms

  • a post seeking the name of a book the blogger can recall details about but can't remember the name of

This is for ALL bloggers, not just book bloggers! If you're seeking bread baking books or suggesting board books for babies or having a difficult time finding the name of the romance novel you read the blurb of while standing in line at the grocery store this meme is for you. Here is a great example of how you can do it.

feel free to share it in your sidebar too.

I'm almost embarrassed to post this particular S.O.S. because it might give the wrong impression... lol

This month I'm seeking...

More fairytale/classic retellings that are geared toward adults, most of what I've read and found are YA.

I recently read the first in the Kingdom Series by Marie Hall, but I didn't like how the characters were written even though I loved the concept (and apparently saying that made my review 'not helpful' on Amazon). It definitely left me wondering if there were more adult geared—romantic, horror, or even erotic—tales featuring some of my favorites like Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, the Frog Prince, Red Riding Hood, the Brave Little Tailor, Rumpelstiltskin... even retellings of classics like Jane Eyre or Great Expectations. I just can't seem to find many that I haven't already read. Think Once Upon a Time or Elementary if they were books.

Some retellings I've already read:

If your blog or post contain strong sexual description or steamy photos please add (18+) behind your blog's name in the linky so anyone who does not want to view such can choose whether or not to visit your meme post. Thanks! :)

Today is the LAST day of the giftcard giveaway! Post your own S.O.S. post before the giveaway closes and get an extra 25 entries for linking up. It's that easy.

Okay, let’s see if I can find any. The only retelling I have read is for Frankenstein. The title is The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein, and it is pretty interesting — but I would read the original first. ;)

Now for adult books I haven’t read, I found several lists on Good Reads and Amazon and other sites.

Sorry I couldn’t help more. xD Hopefully the links will keep you a little busy. :P
