Bored of Summer Yet?

What is it about summer vacation that causes boredom? I've seriously heard the phrase "I'm bored." more in the past week than I have in the previous 9 months. Keeping my kids entertained is becoming an art form.

But what happens when adults get bored? Honestly, it's not a word I'm familiar with. I don't have time to be bored and I tend to be really good at finding ways to keep myself busy. So in honor of the shitty week I've been having and my sickness of hearing that awful phrase so frequently I thought I'd put together a list of things to do if you get bored this summer.

• Rewatch an old favorite TV series or find a new favorite.

• Cool down with some hot comics.

With everything from True Blood and Richelle Mead's Dark Swan getting the graphic novel treatment there's something out there for every urban fantasy fan.

• Host a game night!

• Compare the flick and the book.

Admit it, most of the time people love the book better... but once in a while we all love the flick even more. Natch, there's only one way to find out for sure!

Obviously there are lots of other ones you could compare including Twilight and the Harry Potter series but you get the idea. ;)

• Geek out with a new video game!

• Get warmed up for Underworld 4: New Dawn with an Underworld series marathon.

Yep, you read that right, another Underworld flick is in production with a January 2012 release date.

• Learn something new...

...when you get your cookin' and craftin' on with a dark, bookish or geeky twist.

• Take up tarot.

You don't have to be into divination to enjoy tarot decks.

• Savor some porn.

No, not THAT porn. This porn...

• Go back to high school... with Monster High!

I've been collecting these for the tot but my stepkid loves them too. Wish they'd make a cartoon of it.
