Special Guestblog & Giveaway Tomorrow!

When I was in the 5th grade our teacher gave out awards to each student at the end of the year. Each award was based on a trait she thought made us special or that she liked or something to that effect. I was afraid she wouldn't give me one even though there was supposed to be one for everybody. What could she possibly find that was good about me? From the first day I had entered her class we had butted heads. The award I received was "Quietest Girl Who Talks the Most". Huh? She explained that while I was shy and kept to myself she had found that when someone prompted me about something I was interested in I was a jabbermouth. That award has always stuck with me (in memory) as a reminder that even if you're shy and have a hard time reaching out making a little effort has great rewards.

As an adult I've shed most of my shyness and learned to care what others think of me less. Yet as a blogger I sometimes find it a struggle to reach out to authors, publicists, readers but most of all... my fellow bloggers. Afterall, they're my peers and seem most likely to pass judgement on what I do. Fortunately, sucking up the fears and reaching out to your fellow bloggers can be one of the most rewarding parts of blogging.

That's how I met and have begun a lovely friendship with Crystal of Reading Between the Wines Book Club. We've been planning special guestposts for one another and if you took part in her Countdown to This Side of the Grave event last month you were treated to a special man's perspective interview with my husband, Adam. Tomorrow you'll be treated to Crystal's very special post about what makes a good hero and let me just say beforehand it's a very smexy post (+ Crystal is doing a giveaway)! You shouldn't miss it! -- Rhi
