Just a little longer...

Hi there dear readers! I just wanted to pop in and say a very brief hello. I survived the dreaded surgery just fine, though I must say anaesthesia is the devil. My recovery is going alright, mostly going nuts because I can't lift anything and all the stuff I normally do is being done (or ignored) by my husband. He's been such a good caretaker but you know how it is... if you like things done your way and they're not being done your way and you can't do them yourself... well... yeah. I'm trying very hard to help out with little things but then I forget what I can't do and I pay for it later. Mostly I'm just tender, bruised and annoyingly fatigued.

This afternoon I was finally able to finish the ABNA excerpts and reviews so I finally have it off my chest. There were some submissions in there I really hope find a publisher, YA ones mostly. It was both very tedious and difficult but a fun challenge. I'm excited to see if one of the ones I liked makes it to the final round.

In the meantime I've got three books sitting here finished I need to review and I haven't started my Patricia Briggs reading for March. Ouch, yeah I'm sucking. My excuse is that I'm still slogging through White Witch, Black Curse. I may move some of my author months around for later this year depending on what I get done this month. Which begs the question of my fellow bloggers... how do you keep up with both your review reading and your big favorites? And by big favorites I mean those everyone-knows-them series like The Hollows or Psy/Changelings or Black Dagger Brotherhood?

Oh and guess what? Apparently ereaders will give you cancer. *head/desk* I called my aunty to wish her a happy birthday and after we spoke I talked to my grandmother (who is a huge tree hugger, new-age sort). We were chatting about what was new with life and the kids. I mentioned how proud I was about my son's latest report card and that we were discussing getting him an ereader (Kindle) for his birthday this coming fall if he continues to have excellent grades and shows he can take care of such an expensive device. I had assumed the whole "we're saving the trees, reducing landfill, burning less fossil-fuels with shipping" benefits would make her so proud of me. Instead she blew up on me about how they cause cancer and are bad for your eyes, etc. and there's nothing like the feel of a book in your hands. Wow. Talk about backfire. I didn't tell her I had just bought one for her grandson-in-law but I did say I was happy with mine. Ugh!

But anywho I just wanted to check in and let y'all know I'm alive but still not very energetic. I'm really missing my whole blogroll and you followers. I feel so isolated but the doc wants me to rest for another week so rest I shall. In the meantime I just got my Vine ARC of Wither which I have been anxious to read! So far I am liking it a lot. What are you guys working on books wise? Blogwise? Anyone doing any neat blog events?

I'm off to have a snack and rest a bit. TTFN & see you again in a week or so. XO -- Rhi
