Just wanted to send out wishes for a very happy Halloween to all who visit. This is pretty much my favorite day of the year. Perhaps that's some of where I got my roots as a fan of the paranormal? Personally, I blame Sesame Street. The Count was always my favorite character on the show for some reason. It wasn't until I was older I put it together that he was a vampire and I'd liked them since I was too little to understand the concept. Cemeteries are easier to explain... there's one behind my grandma's house that I used to take walks in with her all the time. It was never a scary place for me, just a place to go visit stones with names on them and leave flowers for strangers. Each little element of what makes a good paranormal story somehow seems to have happy childhood memories behind it for me. It's no wonder that I always loved the excitement of spending an autumn night out crunching through the leaves with my mom, my brother and my friends in search of sweet treats while I pretended to be an angel, a ballerina, a witch, and even Cleopatra.

I've done my best to pass these traditions onto my own child. We've carved our pumpkin and put our decorations up. We've got candy just in case we actually get any Trick or Treaters but now it's time for my family to get ready to do some of the traditional Trickin' and Treatin' ourselves! Have a wicked Hallow's Eve!
